“Help to protect our school and ensure the safeguard of our students”
OUR PROJECT
Our school is one of the oldest schools in the country with a proud history of 144 years. At
present, our college is developing as a primary school and has provided many facilities for the
education of children. Our school educates students from ages 5 to 10 in this area. The majority
of them come from lower-income families. The school is situated in a highly populated area since
Ratmalana is an industrial area. Due to the economic crisis in the country, thievery and robbery
have increased immensely. Therefore, the menace of thieves is severe in our area, and protecting
the school has become a problem. As a solution, it was suggested to install a CCTV system.
Therefore, we decided to raise funds to accomplish this task as it is difficult for us to find the
required amount. This project will be supervised by the Zonal Educational Office, Piliyandala.
CCTV Camera Systems cost a significant amount of money. We hope that your kind donations will
enable us to purchase this system. Therefore, each donation matters.
OUR BACKGROUND
Sri Dharmarama Vidyalaya is located at 546/A Vedikanda Gramaseva Division, Ratmalana
Divisional Secretariat, Colombo District, Western Province. With a 144-year-old history, Sri
Dharmarama Vidyalaya, which is founded by Ratmalane Dharmaloka Thero, Ratmalane
Dharmarama Thero, and Kirigalpotte Indrajothi Thero, is currently undergoing rapid
development as primary school. Our school educates around 167 students in the area. The
school is a state-run school with 9 teachers.
When I, Mr. P. K. Marambage came to the school in 2015, there were about 35 students in 8
classes and the school were in a state of closure. The majority of the students in this school are
children from families suffering from various economic difficulties and social dilemmas. The staff
is dedicated to providing quality education to children of underprivileged families. The school
conducts many programs in providing food, and educational supplies, improving quality of life by
conducting health checkups, and even providing clothing and school items whenever necessary
Budget
To ensure the safeguarding of the school premises and students, the CCTV camera system has
become essential. The Security cameras can help to keep students safe at the forefront and can
be used to identify bottleneck areas on the school premises. For this project, it will cost around
300 thousand LKR, with the generous help of people we expect to achieve this target.
The following table shows the estimated budget as of 2022/12/31.
